New Dawn Fades is a graphic novel by Brian Gorman
Foreword by Mick Middles.

Brian Gorman originally from Wigan, as a youth was interested in comic art and illustration but was told by his careers officer that there was no jobs for comic writers or illustrators. Basically forget it.

As time progressed he was drawn back into his dream job. (see what I did there!) He discovered Joy Division quite late but loved them and also the atmospheric photographs take by Kevin Cummins which most Joy Division fans will be familiar with.

He hit on an idea to produce a graphic novel about Manchester but also telling the story of Joy Division. The black and white images are fantastic with a few inspired by those Cummins prints.

The idea of the book was conceived a number of years ago but due to contractual issues with a publisher it didn't happen. So, Brian who also acts decided to change it to a play which he has successfully toured with but the love of drawing brought him back to finishing the book and getting it out there.

The book is a great addition to anyone who love Joy Division, Manchester and its music heritage or just graphic novels. It can be purchased along with the authors other titles from www.invisiblesix.co.uk
