Y Not Festival / The Big Gin / Main Stage
Gig Description
The most anticipated gig of the weekend for lots of people.
With a 2.30pm slot on a very wet Saturday afternoon who knew what to expect.
We got to the main stage fifteen minutes before the gig started and the crowd was a little sparse but bear in mind it was mid afternoon and bucketing down.
Ten minutes later the arena was rammed and the tension was building for the band to start. With all the band on stage sound checking which is unusual there was the constant chant of "Idles, Idles" from the pit.
Eventually they kicked off and the crowd went wild.
With their brand unique brand of socially aware rock n roll, punk they smashed their way through the set.
One particularly moving moment was when they sang Samaritans about mental health and Joe had heard a friend had lost his battle and committed suicide.
This band are a must see, they are wild, passionate, fun, and entertaining.
Definitely be catching them again when they tour.
