Gig Description

I have watched Stockport band Blossoms a few times and they seem to get better at each gig I go to, this was by far their best gig so far and it is great practice for next summer's homecoming gig at Stockport County's Edgeley Park.

The set list started with I Can't Stand It, ended with Charlamagne and included all of the main tunes from their first 2 albums, including Honey Sweet, Blown Rose and There's a Reason Why.

There was also a great cover of The Smiths classic Big mouth Strikes again and you can clearly see the influence The Smiths and Morrissey have had on the band. Also short cover versions of You're Gorgeous / Last Christmas / Half the World Away merged together which the crowd loved.

This was an excellent gig and both the band and crowd were in great form. The only bad point for me was the sweatbox that is Victoria Warehouse, even the cider that I was downing couldn't cool me down.

Blossoms are a band that sound as good live as they do on their records and I hope they carry on going from strength to strength. I for one cannot wait for the Edgeley Park gig next summer.
