Gig Description
Bought the Album last weekend.
This band are amazing, cannot wait to see them.
Well what a gig!
I took my daughter who hadn't really listened to the album. Got there early to get a good spot as daughter is only 12 and didn't want her not to see a thing and br bored stiff. We positioned ourselves at the left hand end of the stage on the rail and had a great view. The first band on were a four piece female punk band called "Maid of Ace". Proper old school punk with attitude played a great set and got the crowd going which is always difficult for a support act coming on at 8pm. There was a second support "Grade 2" a 3 piece form the Isle Of Wight. An energetic band with a good songs and well worth watching. The Interrupters came on to the haunting sound of Ghost Town by the Specials, then immediately entered into their high energy ska set. The crowd went berserk. They played a good mix of their first and second album. The band were bouncing around the stage and the whole auditorium was bouncing along too. Its a long time since I have been to a gig where as many of the crowd were dancing and the old school punk contingent were crowd surfing. Ay one point Aimee Interrupter jumped off the stage and came along the rail to us and touched my daughters hand. She was thrilled. There was no encore as the band announced they were just staying on stage and playing straight through. The last song they invited all the support onto the stage took a photo with the crowd and then the lot of them danced and sang through the last song. As soon as the music stopped the band were at the front of the stage taking the applause and the drummer threw me one of his sticks to give to my daughter.
