I have two favourite back up bands I saw. The first was Heart backing up The Faces on their last tour. Didn’t know who they were but they rocked.
The second was Thin Lizzy backing up on the Day at the Races tour.

Gary Moore`s G Force supporting Whitesnake
I may be a bit biased but Moore really rocked the place and then Dave Coverdale and Whitesnake came on with his head bands and permed hair and silk scarfs and really did`nt look interested
I never went to see Whitesnake again

Guest support was the brilliant Joanne Shaw Taylor
She rocked her socks off !

Wouldn't a more interesting forum be the worst supports. I nominate Tyla Gang who supported Rush in about 1980. Proper rubbish.

Went to see The Pogues at the Arena a few years ago, couldn't believe the support... only The Stranglers... Brilliant night until Shane was so pissed he forgot the words to Fairytale of New York. Still 2 legendary acts for the price of One.

Saw a band called Casa Salsa Experience supporting The Black Keys at the Academy. They were ace may be not the best support ever but they stick in my memory. Bought their album on vinyl at the gig. Sadly they no longer exist as a band.
