Gig Description

It was May 1981
Roberts first outing since the end of Zep, which I missed out on at Knebworth 1979 which my mates went too
I did`nt go as I was at the time courting and it would have not gone down well with the girlfriend and I`d have to fork out for 2 tickets to go as she was a Zep fan .

We went nice and early , my mate brought along his Knebworth program and his In Through The Outdoor album
For which I gave him stick as the chances of getting them signed was , no fecking chance !
I took my camera
We got there and lo and behold we were at the back of the cue
Then a car pulls up , and this fella gets out with short golden locks and just looked like Robert Plant !
Then he puts his coat on as this time shaking like a leaf a took a photo
For it was the Rock God himself !
We are all a bit shocked
He walks right passed me and I says
Can I have a photo Rob ?
For he stops, smiles and I took another photo
My mate then asks him if he could sign his Program and album
He says follow me lads ( or something in that vain ) and we go inside Manchester Poly for which he sits on a chair and signs my mates feckin album and program
The weekend before we had gone to Blackpool and ended up in a Rock Disco and I so happen to have a flyer still in my pocket
So he signs it
to John Rob Plant .
