Gig Description

My first ever gig and I wasn't 100% on the date so I created it around the time i thought it happened and hoped someone out there could pin point the exact date.
After a twitter appeal I not only got the exact date but the advertisement from sounds magazine.
The Beat had launched their 2nd album "Wha-ppen" this was the tour to promote it.

I don't recall the support although i did watch them as i was 14 and there was no way I was going any where near the bar.
The Beat were amazing on the night, I managed to get myself pretty near the front and after reading a review of the gig it described it as a "skanking sauna".That was a very good description.
I remember certain points of the night when the hair literally stood up on the back of my neck and I thought this is it! I have never looked back and obviously attended gigs ever since but I will never lose the memory of the anticipation, excitement and euphoria of that first gig.

I still listen to Wha-ppen regularly and the saxophone on "All out to get you" transports me back to the Apollo 1981!
