Gig Description

Magnificent evening of musical memories.
The support band were The Proclaimers who I had never heard of prior but very soon broke to become popular themselves and they captivated the members of the audience who got in there early enough to see them.
The Housemartins set began and they started to work through their setlist.
There was the odd incident of spitting and bottles being thrown on stage, then someone decided to try and get onto the stage by pulling themselves up by one of the lighting rigs.
The rig wasn't such a big thing and the weight of a bloke trying to use it to hoist themselves onto the stage pulled the thing over. Paul Heaton who was stood at the front of the stage manger to break the fall of the rig as it hit him on the head as it came down.
Luckily nobody was hurt and the rest of the gig passed without incident.
